What kind of moral image is this of a supposedly Christian-social party when the ÖVP chairman inflicts social dishonesty on the poorest in society? A party battered by legal investigations and low polls is trying to force a law and order policy with the help of its spin doctor Fleischmann. Mr. Nehammer expresses himself with unworthy words that lack ethics and decency. With a similar right-wing orientation, the Fleischmann-Kurz alliance has already managed to tap into FPÖ voters and win a political majority. Now this spin not only endangers the social consensus of the republic, but also calls into question the democratic social order. Social inequality is a fact and giving appropriate political answers to it would be worthy of a governing party. This ÖVP rhetoric, which aims to convey a nationalist identity to voters as a panacea, merely stages a shift to the right in favor of the FPÖ. Is this supposed to be a political calculation that has already led to a coalition with an extreme right-wing party in Salzburgerland, possibly with the balance of power reversed?
