Is Morocco taking advantage of its new position as a hydrocarbon “hub”?

At a time when the European Union (EU) is continuing its embargo on Russian petroleum products, Moscow is seeking to redirect exports to alternative markets, so as to cushion the shock on its economy. A strategy that offers several opportunities, which benefit several countries, including Morocco. If, in 2021, Moroccan imports of Russian diesel amounted to around 600,000 barrels for the whole year, in January 2023, they rose to 2 million barrels. But not only !
