The law regulating clinical medical research prohibited the use of human samples for research in a number of cases, most notably storage following the completion of the research. Below we review these cases in detail.

In the case of using human samples for medical research, the following actions are prohibited:

– Using it without the prior informed consent of the respondent or his legal representative and without prejudice to the provisions of the relevant laws.

Storing them following the completion of medical research, or the surplus materials from them for the purpose of using them in future research, or for any other purpose, without obtaining prior informed consent from the subject or his legal representative and the approval of the Supreme Council.

Trafficking, in any form, in any human samples obtained for the purpose of using them in medical research. The approval of the Supreme Council is required, as well as observing the considerations and requirements of national security before the entry or exit of any human samples related to medical research to and from the Arab Republic of Egypt, for any purpose.

All of this is as indicated by the executive regulations of this law.
