A new report suggested that Reality Pro headset The prospects from Apple, which have been rumored for years, will not appear at the developer conference that will be held on June 5, WWDC 2023, according to the famous Apple analyst Ming-Shi Kuo.

Apple rarely launches new product categories, since it’s been eight years since the original Apple Watch, and the tech industry feels ready for another tweak, but the idea of a metaverse isn’t exactly in vogue right now.

The concept was strongly championed by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg whose enthusiasm led him to completely rebrand his company.

The Meta Quest Pro, an expensive headset focused on mixed reality capabilities, was introduced last year. It was a preview of the future, but it wasn’t exactly a practical consumer product.

With revenues down and the tech industry in a rough spot, Zuckerberg has scaled back his ambitions.

This already seemed like a challenging environment for Apple to launch its own headset, and the company has already disavowed the term “metaverse”, but it would need something very compelling to change public opinion regarding the concept.

Given the Reality Pro’s rumored price, it would need a compelling use case for such a device, which companies like HTC and Meta have struggled to pitch.
