This morning the Cantonal COE of Guayaquil exhorted the National COE to evaluate the relevance of a new Exception status nationally, following announcing that the city of Buenos Aires rose to the level of Alist 3.
Given this, the National COE, chaired by Juan Zapata, mentioned that the only one who can declare a state of exception is President Guillermo Lasso.
“The relevance of a state of exception is evaluated, in order to limit mobility and limit the speed of contagion of the omicron variant of COVID-19”, urged the COE of Guayaquil.
Before the request, Zapata said that “the official request from Guayaquil has not yet reached us, but a new Exception status it is only in the hands of the President of the Republic.
In addition, the National COE questioned the figures of deaths from Covid-19 published by the mayor of Guayaquil, Cynthia Viteri, from her Twitter account on the morning of this Friday, January 7, which detail that in the Buenos Aires city there are 5 daily deaths from coronavirus.
