An official in one of the iron trading companies stated that the new indicative price has not yet arrived at the new prices, noting that the companies are the ones that determine the selling price to the merchant on the warehouse land, which may rise from 100 to 300 pounds per ton from the factory price, until it reaches the final consumer.
The data of the Central Bank of Egypt showed that Egypt’s production of rebar increased to regarding 5.8 million tons during the first 8 months of 2022, compared to 4.8 million tons during the same period last year 2021, while the production capacity of companies is regarding 15 million tons, while the actual consumption reaches 7.5. millions of tons.
And the movement of exports recorded during the first 9 months of 2022, according to the report of the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractories and Metallurgical Industries, regarding 1.01 billion dollars, compared to 1.31 billion during the same period in 2021, a decrease of 23%, while it recorded by the end of 2021 regarding 1.78 billion dollars, an increase. It reached 145% for 2020.
