UKIron Maiden stamps launched on the market

If some are scary, these British Post stamps will in any case delight collectors.

The Royal Mail will put into circulation, on January 12, a series of twelve stamps in tribute to Iron Maiden, illustrated with live photos and drawings of its mascot Eddie. The group is only the fifth to have this honor in the UK, following the Beatles in 2007, Pink Floyd in 2016, Queen in 2020 and the Rolling Stones recently.

Note that the stamps are adorned with the effigy of the late Queen Elizabeth II. “It’s amazing to think that Her Majesty, may she rest in peace, saw them and agreed to affix her iconic silhouette to them,” said Rod Smallwood, manager of the hard rock band, at ” Classic Rock”.

For Steve Harris, 66, co-founder of Iron Maiden, the release of these stamps brings back childhood memories. “When I was 10 or 11, I collected them. There was a store that sold it in my town, and I spent hours in front of the window to find out what I might buy with the little money I had. I had a pretty full album, before turning to football and girls,” he joked.
