PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (Indofood) is again holding the 2024-2025 Indofood Research Nugraha (IRN) program with the theme “Functional Food Research Based on Local Potential and Wisdom” which is open until 21 October. Through this program, Indofood is again accepting research proposals from final year students who will complete their undergraduate studies.
Deputy Head of the Corporate Communications Division of PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (Indofood) Indrayana said the activity was held to explore ideas from students in facing the threat of food and health crises by exploring the potential of existing functional food.
“Functional food is a food source that not only acts as a source of energy and nutrition, but also has certain properties that can contribute to improving public health. The theme of this IRN is Functional Food Research Based on Potential and Local Wisdom,” he said, quoted from the statement. received on Thursday (3/10).

“We invite students who will complete their final assignments to jointly contribute to efforts to improve public health through functional food towards a Golden Indonesia 2045,” added Indrayana.
He also said that the IRN Program, which has been running for more than 18 years, has consistently encouraged the research interest of the younger generation. Through the IRN Program which focuses on research funding assistance, especially in the food sector, it is hoped that it can help students complete their studies while giving birth to a generation of superior researchers who are honest and creative.
“IRN not only provides research funding, but also assistance from a team of experts during research. Last year, we received around 600 proposals, an increase of 40% from the previous year and still dominated by universities from the western region of Indonesia. We hope there will be more as well as students from other regions,” he said.

The IRN program, he continued, can be followed by all majors because the research scope includes agro-technology (cultivation), process/processing technology, nutrition and public health, as well as socio-culture, economics and marketing. All submitted proposals will be selected by the IRN Expert Team.
IRN itself is one of the c programsorporate social responsibility (CSR) PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk which was launched in 2006. To date, the IRN Program has funded more than 1,000 research proposals.
“We hope that more and more students will take part in this program and be motivated to look for creative ideas to find researched food sources and reveal the properties and other advantages of food sources around us. This IRN program is also a real contribution of the younger generation to resilience. Indonesian food,” concluded Indrayana.

During the socialization of the IRN program, IRN Expert Team Member Ambaryanto gave guidance to students so that their proposals could receive research funding.

This year it is about functional food, so both in the title and in the background the functionality must be visible. Then it must be in accordance with the provisions, completeness of the proposal, and feasibility of research funding.
