Irkutsk Region Implements 6.6% Salary Increase for Budgetary Employees in 2024

The government of the Irkutsk region decided to index the salaries of employees of budgetary organizations in the region by 6.6% from January 1, 2024. The corresponding order was signed by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Irkutsk region, Konstantin Zaitsev.

The decision was unanimously supported by members of the tripartite commission for the regulation of social and labor relations. The commission meeting took place in November of this year. It includes representatives of social partnership – the association of the Irkutsk regional association of employers “Partnership of Commodity Producers and Entrepreneurs” and the union “Irkutsk Regional Association of Trade Unions”, reports the press service of the government of the Irkutsk region.

Konstantin Zaitsev:
— The commission members also recommended that the municipalities of the Angara region make similar decisions on indexing the salaries of employees of municipal institutions. I would like to note that in general, salary indexation will affect regarding 177 thousand employees working in more than three thousand state and municipal institutions.

The regional Ministry of Labor reported that according to amendments to the Federal Law “On the Minimum Wage” dated November 27, 2023, from January 1, 2024, the minimum wage will be increased by 18.5% – by three thousand rubles, the payment will be 19,242 rubles per month. Besides, minimum wage in the Irkutsk region from January 1, 2024, taking into account the size of the northern allowances, will be 30,787 rubles in the southern regions and 36,560-48,105 rubles in the northern regions of the region.
