Irina Viner left the post of president of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics. She has held this position since 2008. Winner resigned after the unified Russian Gymnastics Federation appeared.
“Viner resigned as head of the organization,” Match TV reports. They reported that a decision had previously been made to merge the FSGR, the Trampoline Federation of Russia, the Federation of Sports Acrobatics of Russia, the All-Russian Federation of Sports Aerobics and the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Wiener said she will not leave the sport completely and will continue to work as a line coach. The first president of the new united Russian Gymnastics Federation General Director of Russian Railways elected Oleg Belozerov.
Wiener has been the head coach of the Russian rhythmic gymnast team since 2001. Among her students are such famous athletes as Yulia Barsukova, Alina Kabaeva, Yana Kudryavtseva, Arina and Dina Averina.
