The attack on the base in Arbil province was carried out late on Saturday and caused some damage but no casualties, the regional government said in a statement.
The Peshmerga (Kurdish forces) security forces are allies of the US-led international anti-jihadist coalition deployed in Iraq.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
But since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7, attacks on US forces and anti-jihadist coalition forces in Iraq have increased.
Most of them have been claimed by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a group of armed groups that oppose US support for Israel’s war in the Gaza Strip.

Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region, said he was deeply concerned regarding Saturday’s drone attack.
“I condemn the criminals and their accomplices in the strongest possible terms,” he said on the X social network.
Authorities in Arbil have said the groups are funded by the federal government in Baghdad, with which Iraqi Kurdistan has strained relations.
The government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al Sudani is supported by pro-Tehran parties.
