BAGHDAD, July 12 (Xinhua) — Iraq has registered 377 cases of viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHF) since the beginning of the year, including 53 deaths, Iraqi Health Minister Saleh al-Hasnawi confirmed on Wednesday. in a press release.

Last May, the number of registered cases stood at 119, including 18 deaths, according to the same source.

VHFs are a group of diseases caused by different viruses, including Ebola, which can affect multiple organ systems in the body and cause fever and bleeding.
