According to PCMag.com, Microsoft has alleged that Iran A state-sponsored group is once again trying to meddle in the US presidential election.

Microsoft says Iran did the same thing in the 2020 presidential race, but this time Microsoft suspects Iran is creating fake news websites in an attempt to gain the attention of American voters and to make the news appear authentic. Artificial intelligence is being relied upon.

Microsoft says a website called ‘New Thinker’ is targeting left-leaning people.

Former President Donald Trump has been insulted on the website. The website Savannah Time claims to be the trusted source of traditional news in Barony, Georgia, USA.

The website focuses on a variety of topics including gay and transgender issues and gender reassignment.

Both websites are still online and appear professionally designed, but both have blank contact pages.

Additionally, the stories published in both places cited Savannah Time staff or Newthinker staff instead of reputable journalists.

Microsoft suspects that the Iranian group ‘Storm-2035’ behind these websites may be trying to spread the news on social media.

The company added that these websites appear to be using generative artificial intelligence to steal articles from real US publications and rewrite them.

According to Microsoft’s report: ‘An examination of web page source code and signals in news reports suggests that websites may be using certain tools to appear in search engine results.

‘These tools help to create interesting headlines, select keywords and change the copied content to make it look different from the original. This helps the websites to hide the source and more people visit the website.’
