‘Israel’s security is non-negotiable,’ German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Saturday during a speech at the Munich Security Conference, reiterating that his country would never accept a weaponized Iran nuclear.
“An atomic armament of Iran is unacceptable to us,” he said, “also because Israel’s security is not negotiable,” he added.
The chances of salvaging the Vienna Iran nuclear deal are dwindling and “the moment of truth” has arrived, he also warned, noting that “we still have a chance to reach a pact that will allow the lifting of sanctions” once morest Iran.
“If we don’t get there quickly, then the negotiations risk failing,” he said, however, adding: “Iranian leaders have a choice.”
The United States reported on Thursday “substantial progress” during the negotiations in Vienna to save the Iranian nuclear agreement, judging a possible agreement “in the coming days” if Iran “shows seriousness”.
