In a separate attack, the ministry said 18 people were killed in an overnight strike in Kan Yunis.

On Christmas Day, the military said it continued ground, air and sea operations and struck several Hamas targets, including commanders.

At least 12 people, mostly women and children, were killed in a pre-dawn Israeli strike that targeted a house in the central Gaza Strip’s Zuwayda area, the ministry said. The AFP could not independently verify the death toll.
