A member of the municipal council of the city of Mako in northwestern Iran, Hajjet Bam, told the “Roydad 24” website, that bakeries in the city of Mako that bake “barbarian bread” have been instructed to stop doing so during the month of Ramadan.
The “Barbarian Bread” bakeries in the city of Mako in West Azerbaijan Province will close its doors during the morning period during the month of Ramadan, according to a statement issued by the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in this regard. The reason behind this decision is that “Berber bread” usually comes with the morning breakfast, and may remind fasting people of food, and therefore it was decided to close Al-Barbari bakeries during the morning period during the month of Ramadan.
Wardi Hassanzadeh, head of the Bakery Syndicate in Urmia, the capital of West Azerbaijan Province, confirmed the news, and said that during the month of Ramadan, “lavash bread” will continue to be baked from 6 am until the end of the class, but “Barbari Bakeries” starts service from 3 pm until half past An hour before breakfast.
