University security guards arrested the student, referred to on social media as Ahu Daryai (a name that has not been independently confirmed), and there are fears of her being tortured and abused by the authorities.
“Amir Kabir Newsletter”, a student group on Telegram wrote that the student was walking around half-naked after being harassed at the Islamic Azad University by the Moral Police for not wearing the hijab (headscarf) properly. In fact, they claim that she suffered a serious physical attack, as they hit her head either on a car door or a pillar, which caused her to bleed profusely. “The blood stains were found on the tires of the car,” it is noted.
Social media users are reporting that the girl has fallen into a coma, triggering memories of the abuse case that resulted in the death of Kurdish-born Makhsa Amini two years ago.
