Iran tests new trade corridor; Russian goods continue to reach India – Iran | Russia

Tehran: Iran says it can bring Russian goods to India through the country’s new trade corridor. Containers of laminated timber sheet weighing 41 tons were first shipped to India. The deal is being spearheaded by the state-controlled Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines Group.

The container is expected to reach India within 25 days, national media reported. Russia, which is facing sanctions over the Ukraine war, needs to strengthen the north-south transit corridor in the current situation. According to the report, Iran is examining the possibility of becoming a beacon for connecting Russia and the Asian market.
