Iran says it repelled drone attack on military site

Iran claimed overnight from Saturday to Sunday that it had repelled an attack by drones on a military site located in Isfahan (center), according to the Ministry of Defense quoted by the Irna agency.

“An attack, which failed, was carried out using drones on one of the Ministry of Defense equipment complexes,” the latter explained, adding that the attack did not cause any casualties, but only “minor damage to the roof” of a building, according to the agency.

He said one of the drones was destroyed by the site’s air defense system, while the other two exploded.

The vice-governor of the province of Isfahan, Mohammad Reza Jan-Nesari, also declared on television that the attack had “no casualties”, adding that an investigation was opened to define the causes. causes.

The authorities did not give details on the activity of the targeted site, located in the north of the big city of Isfahan.

Iran has several known nuclear research sites in this region, including a uranium conversion plant.

In addition, Tehran has been accused in recent months of supplying drones to Russia for the war in Ukraine, which Iran denies.
