(CNN)– Israeli army spokesman, Daniel Hagari, said that Iran launched drones towards Israel, adding: “We are following the threat in the airspace. It is a threat that will take several hours to reach Israel.”

An Israeli army spokesman indicated on Saturday that the Global Positioning System (GPS) would not be available in certain areas as part of the preparations.

“If we detect specific threats that have a shorter access time, we will notify you immediately,” he added.

Hagari continued: “We ask you to be vigilant and follow the directives of the Home Front Command. We understand these threats and have dealt with them in the past.”

The Israeli army spokesman for the Arab media, Avichay Adraee, said: In a post on the X website (Previously Twitter): “The IDF remains on alert and develops a picture of the situation at all times. The air defense system is on high alert, along with Air Force aircraft and Navy ships, continuing the mission of protecting the country’s skies.”

An American official confirmed that Iran launched drones towards Israel.

The Iraqi Minister of Transport, Badr Razzaq Muhaibis, announced the closure of Iraqi airspace and the cessation of air traffic, without giving a reason for the measure.

The Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority in Jordan announced the closure of the Kingdom’s airspace to the movement of all aircraft “in light of the escalation of surrounding risks in the region,” according to a statement by the authority.
