After the martyrdom of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, the clouds of war in the Middle East have deepened. The Iranian government and its backed regional militias have warned that Ismail Haniyeh’s martyrdom will be avenged.
Hezbollah and other groups continue to attack northern Israel. The Iranian government has not officially come forward in this matter so far, but the leadership of Israel is afraid that the Iranian leadership will continue to build a foothold on Israeli soil through its militant groups.
The Israeli leadership has sought assurances from the British and French governments that they would step in to help in the event of an official attack by Iran. The Israeli Foreign Minister says that we need help to fight Iran.
The foreign ministers of France and Britain are scheduled to visit Israel’s capital Tel Aviv today to formulate a comprehensive strategy in the context of the rapidly deteriorating situation in the region. The two foreign ministers, during their meeting with the Israeli leadership, will insist on doing whatever can be done to avert war.
