IRAN demands responsibility for the United States for providing support for the Israeli Zionist regime’s crimes in southern Lebanon as well as the murder of Hezbollah secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
“We also emphasize the full responsibility of the United States government as a supporter and partner in the international crimes and terrorist acts of the Zionist regime,” said the Iranian Embassy in Jakarta in an official statement, Tuesday (1/10).
The Iranian Embassy said that Israel has again shown its evil face to the world after attacking Gaza for eleven months by continuously violating international humanitarian law and blocking humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Israel, said the Embassy, this time demonstrated its crimes through rocket attacks on residential areas in South Lebanon and the assassination of Nasrallah on September 28 2024 using a 5,000 pound bunker-buster bomb given by the US.
The repeated violations of international law and conventions together with the heinous acts committed, the Embassy said, make the crimes against humanity committed by the Zionist regime even more striking.
The Iranian Embassy asked the United Nations and the UN Security Council to take all necessary steps to maintain regional and international peace and security which is the responsibility of the UN body.
“However, this responsibility is often neglected due to the unconditional support of the United States and several Western countries for the crimes of the Zionist regime,” the Embassy said. “The Israeli Zionist regime, which is fully supported by the United States, continues to commit crimes in South Lebanon,” according to the statement.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran, unequivocally, condemns the aggressive and criminal actions of the Zionist regime in attacking southern Lebanon and the assassination of the Secretary General of Hezbollah,” the embassy said. Iran also called on countries and international organizations to take political, legal steps and provide necessary sanctions against the Israeli regime. (Ant/Z-2)
