Iran calls on America to hand over the suspects in Soleimani’s assassination

Baghdad / Obelisk: The head of the Special Legal and International Follow-up Committee in Iran, Abbas Ali Kadkhdai, on Saturday 14/01/2023, called on the United States to extradite those accused of the assassination of Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander Qassem Soleimani to Iran.

Kadkhadaei stated on Twitter that the United States is obligated to prosecute those accused of the assassination of Soleimani, or to extradite them to Iran, in accordance with the provisions of the 1973 Convention for the Prevention of Crimes Committed once morest Persons Enjoying International Protection.

He continued: According to the 1973 agreement, the United States is obligated either to prosecute suspects in the assassination of personalities protected by the Penal Code, or to extradite them to the country of the victim to be tried there.

Kadkhadai asked: In your opinion, which of these obligations will the United States fulfill towards Iran, as a member of the agreement?
