On February 12, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi would make an official visit to China from February 14-16 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

According to the state news agency IRNA of IranPresident Raisi’s three-day visit to China aims to strengthen ties economic Cooperation Bilateral. The leaders of the two countries are expected to hold separate talks and the delegations of the two countries will sign cooperation documents.

In addition, President Raisi will also meet with businessmen of the two countries here. The two leaders met for the first time last September in Uzbekistan as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.

Iran and China have strong economic ties, especially in the fields of energy, agriculture, trade and investment. In 2021, the two countries signed a 25-year strategic cooperation treaty that is said to cover political, strategic and economic fields.

According to IRNA, China is currently Iran’s largest trading partner. Statistics of the past 10 months of Iran Customs show that the country’s exports to China reached 12.6 billion USD, while importing goods worth 12.7 billion USD from China.
