Iran accuses Israel of escalating tension by bombing Beirut

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the attack by the Israeli regime in Beirut, which caused several victims among Lebanese civilians.

The Israeli army bombed the southern suburbs of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on Tuesday in an attack aimed at a residential building.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health has announced in a preliminary assessment that three civilians, including two children, were killed and 74 people were injured in the Israeli aggression, adding that the search for missing people continues.

“The evil and criminal act of the Zionist criminal gang in the suburbs of Beirut will certainly not be able to stop the brave people and the proud Lebanese Resistance from continuing the honorable path of supporting the oppressed of Palestine and opposing the aggressive nature of the regime of the Israeli apartheid,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Naser Kanani.

Kanani has considered this attack as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon and of all international laws and the Charter of the United Nations.

Furthermore, emphasizing the legitimate right of the Lebanese Government, Army and Resistance to respond to Israel’s aggressive actions, he has considered the “false Israeli regime” and the United States government responsible “for expanding the scope of the crisis and tension in the region.”

In this sense, it has also asked the international community and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to immediately fulfill their responsibilities regarding Israel’s threats against the security of Lebanon, as well as against regional peace and stability. and international.

Reports have claimed that the Israeli offensive in Beirut has failed in its objective of assassinating Hezbollah commander Fuad Sukr, however, it has left several civilian casualties.
