The Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) of Bekasi City has successfully achieved a proud achievement in the 2024 West Java Provincial Student Regional Championship (Kejurda). Although the preparations were not optimal, the Bekasi City contingent, which sent 10 of its best athletes, managed to rank 4th out of 20 competing regencies/cities. They successfully brought home 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal.
In the event held in Bandung City, IPSI Bekasi City athletes competed in various categories, including Tanding and Singles Doubles Team (TGR). Through his statement received, Dhani Ariawan, who is familiarly called “Coach Legend” and serves as the IPSI Bekasi City Achievement Development Division, expressed his gratitude and pride for the athletes’ achievements.
“Although our preparations are far from optimal, all administrators, schools, and athletes are trying with full confidence to continue to bring the good name of Bekasi City through the martial arts sport of pencak silat,” he said.
Dhani also emphasized that the final matches were very tight, with some of them ending with a narrow point difference, such as only 0.2 points, which shows how competitive this event is.
This success is inseparable from the moral and material support provided by various parties. The Daily Chair of IPSI Bekasi City, RM Wisnu Dwi Atmojo, CPLM, emphasized, “The key to the success of this activity is inseparable from the sense of brotherhood and the same concern from all administrators, representatives of schools/padepokan, and parents of athletes. All are united to maximize this activity so that it can present the best for Bekasi City at the provincial, national, and even international levels.”
The Chairman of KONI Bekasi City, Tri Adhianto, who also served as the Mayor of Bekasi, expressed his gratitude and pride for this extraordinary achievement. “The success of winning 4 gold medals in this competition is real evidence of hard work, dedication, and high fighting spirit. I appreciate the relentless efforts of the athletes, coaches, and all parties involved in preparing and supporting this journey. You have made Bekasi City proud and shown the world that we have extraordinary talents in traditional Indonesian martial arts,” he said.

It is not easy for us to do all of this without the synergy of existing stakeholders. This achievement is a reminder and a driving force for our enthusiasm in preparing for the 2026 West Java PORPROV XV,” said Wisnu.
