Sunrisers Hyderabad following two defeats, first win in IPL cricket. They defeated Punjab Kings by eight wickets. Hyderabad surpassed Punjab’s target of 144 runs with 17 balls to spare. Rahul Tripathi remained unbeaten with 74 runs off 48 balls and was the winner. Hit three sixes and 10 fours. Captain Aidan Markram (37* off 21 balls) provided support. Score: Punjab 9–143 Hyderabad 2–145 (17.1) Skipper Shikhar Dhawan scored 100 for Punjab. Dhawan, who came out as the opener and played the entire over, scored an unbeaten 99 off 66 balls. The innings included 12 fours and five sixes. Nine wickets were lost while scoring 88 runs in the 15th over. He scored 55 runs in partnership with Mohit Rathi, the last batsman. Mohit scored a single run in two balls. Everything else was from Dhawan’s bat. Sam Curran was the only other batsman to reach double figures with 22 runs.
