For Lucknow, Krishnappa Gautam and Jason Holr took two wickets each
Mumbai: Lucknow Super Giants have set a target of 166 for victory over Rajasthan Royals. Shimron Heightmeyer’s half-century gave Rajasthan a commanding lead. Ravichandran Ashwin, who scored 28, gave Heitmeyer good support. For Lucknow, Krishnappa Gautam and Jason Holler took two wickets each.
The Rajasthan Royals, who relied heavily on the top order, had to face a test in front of Lucknow. Devadatta Padikkal (29), Jose Butler (13) and Saunju Samson (13) did not live up to expectations. Awesh Khan took the first wicket for Lucknow, dismissing Butler off his first ball.
Later Sanju Samson and Devadas might not add to the scoring speed. The holder trapped Sanju in front of the wicket. Krishnappa Gautam hit a double to Rajasthan, knocking out Devgat and Van der Dusson in the over. But Heitmeyer and Ashwin led Rajasthan to victory.
Ashwin took over the attack as Heitmeyer was late in finding the rhythm. Ashwin hit two sixes in Gautam’s last over to speed up the scoring. Heitmeyer then took the field. Holder and Avesh Khan really knew the heat of the star’s bat. Heitmeyer scored 59 off 36 balls. The innings included one four and six sixes.
