Akshar Patel and Shardul Thakur accelerated the scoring in the final overs to help Delhi cross the 200 mark.
Mumbai Capitals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by a huge margin in the IPL. Openers Prithviraj Shah and David Warner put on 215 for the loss of five wickets in the allotted overs. In the final overs, Akshar Patel and Shardul Thakur accelerated the scoring to help Delhi cross the 200 mark.
Prithviraj Shah, who continued his brilliant form in the last match, was seen in the match. He started the innings with a boundary off the first ball of the innings. Shah dominated the first three overs. Shah attacked Umesh Yadav, who has been bowling brilliantly this season, without even giving him a chance to establish himself.
Later, with the accession of David Warner, Delhi came to power. The duo put on 93 runs in 8.4 overs. Shah hit 51 off 29 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. The alliance was broken by Emperor Varun. After the return of the batsman, captain Rishabh took the ball and started batting. With the score at 148, Andre Russell returned the favor with 27 off 14 balls.
Kolkata tried to get back into the match by smashing Delhi’s middle order from a strong 148-2. Lalit Yadav (1) and Rowman Powell (8) were quick to surrender. Umesh Yadav dismissed Warner for 61 to take his ninth wicket of the season. The left-handed batsman hit six fours and two sixes in his 45-ball innings.
With three wickets in a row, Delhi looked set to cross the 180 mark. But Akshar Patel and Shardul Thakur gave Kolkata a double blow. Umesh Yadav put on 23 runs for the second wicket in the 19th over. Cummins conceded 16 runs in the last over. Shardul scored 29 off 11 balls while Akshar scored 22 off 14 balls.
