A new one survey of Trocafone disclosed by Mobile Time revealed that the iPhones represent about 40% of sales of smartphones on the resale platform for used and/or refurbished devices currently — an increase of 15% compared to last year.
In conversation with the website, the company’s CEO 1, Flavio Peresstated that the good percentage obtained by Apple devices — which have a much smaller share of the Brazilian market, it is worth noting — is due to consumer demand and the availability of iPhones on the refurbished market.

In general, the search for unsealed devices is a result of the high price charged for a new device in Brazil, a scenario which causes the refurbished market to grow by around 15% per year in the country. According to him, there is still a green field for smartphones used here in relation to what happens in more mature markets.
15 years ago, consumers were buying their first smartphones. There weren’t as many offers handsets used and there was a wide variety of models in different price ranges. In other words, people knew what a smartphone was, but they didn’t know (distinguish) the specifications.
Smartphones, as previously mentioned, are not the only devices sold by Trocafone, which also sells (mainly) tablets and smartwatches, as well as strengthening its business with other devices such as PCs and notebooks in recent months.
According to Peres, the most sought-after computer models at the moment are Macs or others that are ideal for professional work (from brands such as Dell and Lenovo). The company is a partner of Voke in this market, being responsible for acting as the sales channel.
