Jeff Puan analyst at Haitong International Securities, said today in a research note on the technology industry that the “iPhones 16 Pro” will be equipped with the upcoming Wi-Fi 7 and an ultra-wide-angle camera 48 megapixels. The informations are from MacRumors.
At the moment, Apple is still expanding Wi-Fi 6E across its device lineup, which supports bandwidths up to 6GHz. So far, only the iPad Pro (11 and 12.9 inches), MacBook Pro (14″ and 16″), Mac Studio, Mac Pro and Mac mini have received the standard, with the “iPhones 15 Pro” quoted to be next.
Wi-Fi 7, in turn, allows transmitting and receiving data in the 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz frequencies simultaneously, in addition to allowing speeds in the house of 40Gbps — four times faster than Wi-Fi 6E. There is no information, however, if the technology will also land on non-Pro models of the “iPhone 16” line.
The alleged new 48MP ultra-wide camera of the “iPhones 16 Pro”, in turn, will allow greater light to enter the sensor, which should improve the quality of images captured with a 0.5x zoom. This lens, including, is the one that suffers the most in low-light environments.
The main wide-angle camera of the iPhones 14 Pro, it is worth remembering, already has a 48MP sensor, but the ultra-wide angle is still “stuck” at 12MP.
As remembered by MacRumors, this upgrade might mean that the “iPhone 16 Pro” will also be able to capture images in ProRAW with the ultra-wide lens. This format, for those who don’t know, retains more details in the image and is usually more flexible for edits.
