In addition to the arrival of the USB-C port — widely reported —, o9to5Mac suggested today that the “iPhones 15” may gain an upgrade in reload speed. According to sources heard by the site, the new line should support recharge up to 35W.
By way of comparison, the iPhones 14 Pro/14 Pro Max support charging up to 27W; recharge it at that power, so it takes approximately 2 hours. In contrast, iPhones 14/14 Plus are limited to 20W.
Last year, Apple released a 35W dual USB-C charger. If the rumors of the “iPhones 15” are true, they will be able to use the full capacity of the accessory – unless another device is connected simultaneously, of course.
In March of this year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also corroborated the information that the “iPhones 15” might support faster charging speeds via USB-C, but emphasized that this would only be possible with certified cables.
Earlier this week, rumors began circulating that some of the new iPhones might even support Thunderbolt/USB4 via the USB-C port, which would allow for faster data transfer and charging.
Something that is not yet clear, however, is whether support for 35W power will be limited to the “iPhones 15 Pro/15 Pro Max” or whether it will reach the entire line. For this, we will have to wait for the official statement from Apple, which should take place in the second week of September.
