New rumors reinforce that the Apple should abandon once and for all the covers made of genuine leather already in the models for “iPhones 15”. The reason for this decision would be the investment in more sustainable and ecological alternatives.
According to leakers Majin Bu [@MajinBuOfficial] e Duan Rui [@DuanRui1205], the future covers of the “iPhones 15” should be made from a vegan material that resembles leather, with a braided texture. Bu even shared some images of what would be clones of these supposed new covers — not necessarily in colors with the correct finishes:

Earlier this month, rumors already pointed to this decision. Now, they seem to be gaining traction, as this second wave of rumors emerges, shedding light on Apple’s alleged plans to introduce this new fabric.
Bu, in particular, emphasized that the covers are made from a leather-like material, with some sources in the supply chain referring to them as “faux leather MagSafe Environmental Cloth Protective Covers”.

However, there is uncertainty whether this hue will be available when smartphones are launched in a few weeks or whether it will be introduced as an additional option in the northern hemisphere spring (our autumn) in 2024.
