“iPhones 15 Pro”: thinner bezel display would be making production difficult

We have been following some rumors regarding the ‌“iPhones 15 Pro‌” e “15 Pro‌ Max” suggest that these models will have screens with thinner edges than their respective predecessors. This change, however, would be giving Apple a headache…

this according to a new report from The Informationwhich pointed out that the LG Display is using a new screen manufacturing process to reduce the size of these bezelssomething that would be causing problems in production.

More precisely, the supplier’s displays are failing reliability tests during a process where the component is fused to the chassis. So Apple is “improving LG’s display design” so that it passes tests, on the eve of mass production.

As observed by AppleInsiderApple had a similar problem with the increased screen size of the Apple Watch Series 7, in 2019, which culminated in the model’s late launch that year.

Despite this, today’s information does not suggest that Apple will delay the launch of the next top-of-the-line models, contrary to what was reported by a Bank of America analyst earlier. However, it is believed that this will result in fewer units being available at launch — mainly the “iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max”.

The schedule will proceed as predicted in part because Samsung-made displays are unaffected by the issue, meaning Apple can “continue to build a significant amount of units.”

It remains for us to continue to follow the development of this.
