After the iPhone 15 Pro Max passes the audio test on the DXOMARKnow it was the turn of the iPhones 15, 15 Plus e 15 Pro to undergo the experiment. Still, it’s worth mentioning that there aren’t many differences between them and that they all achieved good scores.
O iPhone 15 e o iPhone 15 Plus, for example, secured 16th position in the global ranking, with 141 points. The specifications of both include: two speakers (one upper front and one lower side), Dolby Atmos technology and Spatial Audio reproduction.
In playback tests, they exhibited good consistency in several characteristics such as timbre, dynamics and spatial performance — enough to get 143 points in this regard. However, distortion and compression were observed at maximum volume during movie playback.
DXOMARK also noticed an issue with stereo inversion in the Music app, as seen on all iPhones. Despite these small points, the iPhones 15/15 Plus delivered a noteworthy audio experience.
In the recording tests (136 points), both models were praised once more for their timbre and dynamics, but they also coped well with noisy environments and sound artifacts. On the other hand, DXOMARK found the audio zoom to be poor.
Already o iPhone 15 Pro achieved 13th position in the global ranking, with 142 points. Like non-Pro models, it has two speakers, Dolby Atmos technology and Spatial Audio playback. Likewise, he exhibited excellence in timbre, dynamics and spatial performance.
However, similar to other models, it faced distortion and compression at maximum volume and when watching movies. The stereo inversion issue in the music app was also present.
An important note is that the differences in audio performance between the models were minimal. Despite the hardware variations, which include the use of the A16 Bionic and A17 Pro chipsets, the overall audio scores were very similar.
In fact, both the iPhone 15 Plus and 15 achieved identical scores in playback (143) and audio recording (136), further highlighting the similarities in their sonic capabilities. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro performed basically identically to the 15 Pro Max, scoring 144 points in the playback tests (1 point less than the larger model) and 139 in the recording tests.
