iPhone 7 remained the best-selling used cell phone in 2022 in Brazil

A Trocafone, a Brazilian company that buys and sells used cell phones, released today another edition of its ranking with the best-selling models on its website. Regarding the year of 2022the list once more put an Apple smartphone in the lead.

According to the company, regarding 120 thousand devices were marketed in the last year, with Apple and Samsung practically monopolizing consumers’ attention during this period. The two companies together, it is worth noting, occupied 49 positions in the Top 50 released by the platform.

The best-selling cell phone by Trocafone in 2022 — repeating the previous year’s ranking — was the iPhone 7, which last year turned six years old and no longer receives new versions of iOS. The second place was occupied by another very popular Apple model: the iPhone 11 (released at the end of 2019).

Although Apple occupied seven of the top ten positions on the list, Samsung also managed to gain some prominence. The South Korean giant’s best-selling model was the Galaxy S9released in early 2018, which appeared at number six.

In response to Technoblogthe CEOChief executive officeror executive director.”>1 from Trocaphone, Guille Freireexplained the preference of the Brazilian public for the used market:

[Os brasileiros têm] the need to always be hyperconnected, and the vast majority change cell phones on average every 24 or 36 months, however, high prices have created difficulties for the public to obtain quality without exorbitantly touching their pockets.

The iPhone 7 can be found at Trocafone for a minimum price of R$700, while the iPhone 11 appears for at least R$2,000.
