According to rumors from South Korea, the iPhone 16 Pro Max may have the longest battery life ever. A Naver user named “yeux1122” cited supply chain sources in an article last week, confirming a series of rumors regarding the iPhone 16 Pro, such as an increase in screen size from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches.
He explained that the device’s increased body size and internal changes allow it to offer greater optical zoom capabilities, which is likely a reference to the quadrilateral 5x telephoto lens first introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro Max last year.
The size increase may not be too noticeable compared to the current model, but the bezels will still be larger than Samsung’s Galaxy S24. Additionally, the device will feature a battery of similar or larger size. The iPhone 16 Pro was the only device not mentioned in a report last week detailing the battery capacity of the next iPhone.
In a follow-up article, the Naver user explained that many parts of the iPhone 16 Pro will benefit from improvements in power consumption. Most notably, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be equipped with a larger battery to achieve the longest battery life ever for an iPhone. Currently, the battery life of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is 29 hours, and the battery life of the iPhone 16 Pro Max may exceed 30 hours for the first time.
Reports last week claimed that the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s battery capacity will be 5% larger than the previous generation, totaling 4,676 mAh. While this is only a small increase, it’s possible that other energy-saving measures will help improve the device’s overall battery life.
Other details outlined by Naver’s website include rumors that iPhone 16 Pro models will continue to come with 8GB of memory and will continue to improve the manufacturing process of the device’s titanium frame while reducing costs. The iPhone 16 series is expected to be released in the fall.
