The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will continue to have a 48-megapixel main camera, but it is upgraded to what Apple calls a fusion camera, which can merge images for better quality and zoom. The aperture will be f/1.78.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have an upgraded ultra-wide-angle camera with a 48-megapixel sensor, with the same pixel binning function as the main camera. It will have an f/2.2 aperture, up from f/2.4, for better low-light performance and support for 48-megapixel ProRaw photography.
The iPhone 16 Pro will get the 5x tetraprism telephoto camera that was introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro Max last year, replacing the current 3x telephoto camera.
There is now support for 4x slow motion when recording video in Pro Res, you can also adjust the speed of slow motion after you finish filming.

Both Pro models feature four new studio-quality microphones. It is now also possible to record video with spatial sound so you can have festive sound experiences with Airpods or a surround system. iPhone 16 Pro also has new ways to edit video audio with the Audio Mix feature powered by advanced smart features and machine learning. With Audio Mix, you can adjust the sound in a recorded video to focus on the voice of the person in the picture, create the impression that the video was recorded in a professional studio, or place voice tracks in the front and ambient sounds around with surround sound. The new shutter button for the camera – Camera Control – has a touch surface; slide your finger and you can adjust different camera functions. The camera button can be used by third-party apps. It is also the shortcut to Visual Intelligence.
The camera slider also provides access to visual information so you can find out more about objects and places. But, that will only come when Apple Intelligence launches here. When or if it arrives, you can click and hold the camera slider to, for example, show opening hours or reviews of a restaurant you’re passing, add an event from a flyer to the calendar, or quickly find out a dog breed. The camera slider will also act as an input for tools from other developers, such as if you want to search Google to find a particular store or use Chat GPT’s problem-solving capabilities. You control when tools from other developers are to be used and what information is to be shared.
As a camera button, it will of course work. One click and the camera starts, one more click and you take a picture. It has haptic feedback and touch sensor. A light press provides more functions, slide with your finger to zoom, for example. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will support 4k video at 120 frames per second with Dolby Vision.
The iPhone 16 Pro costs from SEK 14,495 for 128 gigabytes of storage memory. The iPhone 16 Pro Max costs SEK 17,495 with 256 gigabytes of storage space. Pre-orders open on Friday, and the phones will start shipping on September 20.
