In a few weeks, Apple will announce its new smartphones, including the iPhone 15 Pro. Clearly, this is a highly anticipated model that should introduce many great new features.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro are expected in the coming weeks, with an estimated launch at the end of September. If the basic model is not particularly supposed to revolutionize the game, it is the Pro range which is, this year, expected at the turn. Many new features are expected, so much so that the iPhone 15 Pro could well be the most impressive iPhone of recent years, in terms of its specs.
The only one with a new chip
Every year, Apple introduces a new Apple Silicon chip for its new iPhones. Except that, since last year, Apple has distinguished its iPhone Pro more than ever from basic models. The new chip developed in-house by Apple is reserved for the most expensive models, while traditional iPhones keep the one from the previous year.
The iPhone 15 Pro should, unsurprisingly, follow this pattern, with the new A17 Bionic chip manufactured by TSMC on a 3nm model. Faster, more powerful and even less energy-consuming, it will succeed the A16 Bionic chip which will arrive on the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus.
A titanium frame
As with the Apple Watch Ultra, the iPhone 15 Pro will abandon the stainless steel frame for titanium. A wise choice since it is a material that is more resistant to claws and scratches.

USB-C faster than Lightning

Following the single charger law passed by the European Union, Apple is forced to switch its iPhone and iPad to a USB-C port. A transition already started on tablets for a few years, and which should see its culmination with the iPhone 15.
The iPhone 15 Pro would, in all likelihood, have a USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 port, ensuring data transfer by cable much faster than with Lightning. For their part, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Ultra will be confined to a USB 2.0 port, similar to Lightning in terms of transfer speed.
Compatibility with WiFi 6E
Another notable innovation with the arrival of compatibility with WiFi 6E on the Pro models. This support prevents interference and frequency congestion in highly populated areas, but also ensures peak speeds 30% higher than those of WiFi 5, thus reaching 11 Gb / s against 7 Gb / s for the latter.
More RAM for more power
Improving the memory of a device means ensuring that it will be able to run the most powerful apps without slowing down, despite the fact that others are running in the background. From 6 GB of RAM on current models, Apple would be tempted to switch to 8 GB of memory on the iPhone 15 Pro.
Action button like the Apple Watch Ultra
Wishing to take over the new functions of the Apple Watch Ultra, the iPhone 15 Pro could be equipped with an Action button to configure as you see fit. It would replace the mute button on the iPhone and could be configured to turn on the flashlight, go into Do Not Disturb or power saving mode.
More powerful optical zoom
Currently, iPhone Pros have up to 3x optical zoom, which helps retain some quality in the scene while still allowing you to zoom in. With the arrival of the periscopic lens in the telephoto lens, the iPhone 15 Pro would be able to achieve an optical zoom ranging from 5 to 6 times greater.
An improved UWB chip
On this point, it should be all of the iPhone 15s that will be enhanced with a new Ultra WideBand chip. Its arrival is not insignificant, since it directly follows the announcement of the Apple Vision Pro. The chip will offer integration with Apple’s mixed reality headset, but not only. The LiDAR scanner will be more powerful
Thanks to Sony, Apple will be able to integrate a more efficient LiDAR scanner into its iPhone 15 Pro. This one will improve the depth scanner for AR applications and for the Night mode of the camera.
A dark red color
If the basic iPhone 15 will more than likely have the right to a RED model supporting an associative cause, the Pro models will benefit, according to 9To5Mac, from a dark red color.
An eSIM-only model
In the United States, Apple was able to put on sale, last year, iPhone 14s completely devoid of a SIM card port and only working with an eSIM card. This year, the iPhone 15 Pro sold in France should also take the plunge and switch to all eSIM.
