iPhone 15 Pro Performance in Resident Evil 4: Remake – A Detailed Review

The performance of the iPhone 15 Pro has been questioned because the test results of “Resident Evil 4: Remake” were not satisfactory. Although the phone performed well in previous tests and was able to run AAA games, such as Resident Evil 8: Village, its performance on Resident Evil 4: Remake was less than satisfactory.

A recently released video shows that when running “Resident Evil 4: Remake” on the iPhone 15 Pro, M1 iPad, and M2 iPad, the frame rate is unstable and often drops below 30FPS. Although the iOS version supports a frame rate limit of up to 30FPS, the iPhone 15 Pro still fails to reach this goal. In some relatively simple scenes, the frame rate is quite stable and close to 30FPS. However, in battles or other more intense scenes, the frame rate will drop sharply below 25FPS, or even as low as 20FPS, resulting in obvious screen freezes. Especially when aiming with a sniper rifle, the performance drop is more obvious.

Compared with “Resident Evil 8: Village” that was previously launched on the iPhone, the iOS version of “Resident Evil 4: Remake” uses the default image quality and does not support custom settings. One reason for the poor performance may be the iPhone’s heat dissipation problem. During the test, the temperature of the mobile phone increased, resulting in frequent frequency reduction and speed limit and screen freezes.

In short, the performance of “Resident Evil 4: Remake” on the iPhone 15 Pro is not ideal. Although Apple has demonstrated strong performance in previous tests, the actual performance has been disappointing. We look forward to Apple continuing to improve its products to provide a better gaming experience in the future.
