The iPhone 15 Pro Max and the other iPhone 15s are not expected before September 2023. The leaks are starting to multiply.
Several important new features are expected, including one concerning the camera of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, generally well informed about Apple’s intentions, the smartphone will inherit a new photo sensor.
The iPhone 15 Pro would be equipped with a new periscopic camera with an X6 optical zoom. It’s a nice step up from that of the iPhone 14 Pro Max and its X3 optical zoom.
This periscopic sensor will be accompanied by an optical image stabilizer to guarantee optimal sharpness of the photos. Contrary to what previous rumors suggested, only the iPhone 15 Pro Max would be equipped with this periscope zoom.

The iPhone 15 Pro will not be entitled to this update. Do not panic this is not the only novelty.
The camera of the iPhone 15 Pro Max but that of the Pro model benefit from other improvements. The new 48MP Sony IMX903 photo sensor would replace the Sony IMX803 of the iPhone 14 Pro. Thanks to a larger sensor size of 1/1.14 inch, it can record more light and detail.
