Apple announced the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max without major design changes, but with a good leap in performance courtesy of the A17 Pro processor, the first in the world with 3 nanometer lithography. Furthermore, under their hood, the new cell phones appear to have improvements that guarantee an increase in mobile network speed.

SpeedSmart released on Friday (15) the results of a mobile internet speed test for the iPhone 15 Pro, showing that the new top of the line is up to 24% faster than its predecessor in downloading with 5G. The graphs below compare the performance of the new cell phone with the speeds achieved by the iPhone 14 Pro. Check it out:

Using the networks of the most popular carriers in the United States, the iPhone 15 Pro can reach 300.92 Mbps download speed on 5G with the T-Mobile signal, which is 21% faster than the iPhone 14 Pro, on average of 245.69 Mbps.

The most significant increase was noticed when using the Verizon network. On this operator, the iPhone 15 Pro reaches 243.06 Mbps download speed with 5G, which is 24% faster than the iPhone 14 Pro, which reaches 195.83 Mbps.

The upload improvements are more discreet, but they exist. The iPhone 15 Pro is capable of reaching 28.72 Mbps on the Verizon network, that is, 15% faster than the iPhone 14 Pro.

It is possible that the increase in download and upload speeds of the iPhone 15 Pro is courtesy of a new 5G modem. Although Apple does not reveal which component it uses for the smartphone’s mobile connectivity, leaks that preceded the launch of the cell phones indicate that the most advanced models use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X70.

It is worth remembering that mobile internet speeds vary according to the operator and country, therefore, signal performance may not be the same in Brazil.

Parallel tests carried out by Ookla with the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra — equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X70 modem — show that the cell phones achieve an average of 133.47 Mbps in download with 5G on an unspecified network in the United States . In Brazil, the average is 441.28 Mbps.

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro is not yet available in Brazilian stores. To be notified when it arrives.
