iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max: Apple must raise prices to compensate for changes, says new rumor

New information obtained by analyst Luke Lin, from DigiTimes, indicates that the Apple really should raise prices of the new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max this year.

Consulting sources in the production chain of the Cupertino giant, Lin discovered that the company should raise the prices of the two smartphones by regarding US$ 100.

This should make the iPhone 15 Pro priced at $1,099 (~R$5,426) and the Pro Max at $1,199 (~R$5,920).

As we are talking regarding the entry-level versions, most likely the Pro Max price can touch US$ 1,299 (~R$ 6,413). That should make it the most expensive iPhone Apple has ever released.

Sources who work at Apple say that this price increase will be used to fund some changes that Apple is expected to make to the devices. Some examples include the titanium frame as well as the periscope camera on the Pro Max variant.

Lin also found that Apple is betting less on the standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models, as the company reportedly reduced production to somewhere between 80 and 90 million units.

By way of comparison, the iPhone 14 line had orders of 90 to 100 million units.

If true, this drop in production shows that Apple should increase its profitability, since the more expensive models have a much larger margin.

As expected, Apple has not commented on the matter. In any case, the company should have a big event next Tuesday to make the iPhone 15 line official.
