The iPhone 15 will finally allow the user to view the number of battery cycles. The information was reported on “X” (formerly Twitter), where a screenshot is shown showing how many cycles have already been carried out on the smartphone, which can be accessed through the “Battery” section. To access the feature, just go to Settings > General > About.

Previously, to find out how many cycles the iPhone battery had already completed, it was necessary to use third-party applications or complicated methods, such as copying and pasting analyzes into “Notes” to search for “last_value_CycleCount” . But now, luckily this is no longer necessary on the iPhone 15 according to user “Ray Wong” (@raywongy) on “X” (formerly Twitter).

It’s true that the iPhone has allowed you to check battery health for years, but only as “maximum capacity” or not. By knowing how many cycles the smartphone has performed, it becomes considerably more accurate to assess the state of the phone’s battery. At page dedicated to Apple batteriesthe company says the following:
Apple lithium-ion batteries work in charge cycles. You complete a charge cycle when you use (discharge) an amount equal to 100% of the battery’s capacity – but not necessarily all of it on a single charge. For example, you can use 75% of the battery’s capacity in one day and fully recharge it overnight. If you use 25% the next day, you will have discharged a total of 100% and the two days will add up to one charge cycle. It may take several days to complete a cycle. The capacity of any type of battery will decrease following a certain period of recharging. With lithium-ion batteries, capacity decreases slightly with each full charge cycle.
According to Hartley Charlton, from the website MacRumors, it has now been discovered that the iPhone 15 has a new battery health setting that prevents charging beyond 80%. Note that the iPhone 15 has the same battery life as the iPhone 14.
