2023-11-15 09:52:00

The extension of the service for an additional year is valid for those who activated Emergency SOS on their iPhone 14 before November 15, 2023. This means that purchasing a unit of the device at this time will still be stuck with the two years of free use .

“Emergency SOS via satellite has helped save lives around the world. From a man who was rescued after his car plunged over a 400-foot cliff in Los Angeles, to lost hikers found in the Apennine Mountains in Italy, we continue to hear stories of our customers being able to connect with first responders when they would otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to. We are delighted that iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 users can enjoy this innovative service for another two years for free.”

Vice President of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing at Apple

Despite guaranteeing the free service, now for all compatible models, until 2025, Apple has not yet disclosed how much it will charge for continuing the Emergency SOS subscription.

Initially, the functionality was only available in the United States and Canada, in September 2022. However, since then, “Apple” has already taken the tool to 16 other countries. So far, there is no forecast of arrival in Brazil.
