The iPhone 14’s front camera might get some serious improvements for photo and video quality, according to Ming-Chi Kuo. The six-element optics, compared to five currently, would offer autofocus support and it is rumored that the sensor would be larger to capture more light (ƒ/1.9 aperture instead of ƒ/2.2 since the iPhone 11) .
For the occasion, Apple would call on Sony, which already supplies the camera sensors, Genius and Largan for the optics, as well as Alps and Luxshare for the autofocus modules. Cowell and LG Innotek will also be there.
The TF Securities analyst suggests that this new feature will be available on all iPhone 14s, not just the Pro models, which would be entitled to a 48-megapixel main sensor on the back (compared to 12 megapixels on the two standard models).
