A OLX today revealed data from best-selling cell phones in 2023, and the results were good for Apple. According to the study, the iPhone 12 consolidated 16.2% of sales among the ten most sought following devices; O iPhone 11 and the XR followed closely.
In all four quarters of last year, iPhones dominated sales, with the iPhone 12 leading the rankings. Surprisingly, the Xiaomi 12 entered the list in March and remained on the list Top 10 by the end of the year, being the only non-Apple model on the list.
The analysis makes it clear that, apart from Apple smartphones, the Xiaomi 12 takes the lead in sales of used devices, followed by Samsung models — such as the Galaxy S21, A32, S10 and S20.
The general director of OLX Regina Butter highlighted the growing attractiveness of the electronics and cellphone category on the platform, noting that the trend of buying and selling used devices continues to grow.
Consumers have already developed the habit of buying and selling used devices. It is interesting to note that, for the most part, we are talking regarding high-end smartphones, with higher prices.
With a price range between R$714 and R$6,604, the survey highlights that it is possible to save up to 64% when purchasing a used smartphone on OLX, reinforcing the value that this type of purchase can offer consumers.
Botter concluded:
The electronics and cell phones category is one of the most attractive on our platform. […] This shows that people trust the second-hand market and use it to fulfill their desires.
