iPad sales and tablet market retreat in 2022, according to research

According to the analysis firm TechInsightsthe overall tablet market fell 12% in 2022, causing major manufacturers to see a drop in sales of these devices — including Applewhich remained at the top of the ranking.

More precisely, throughout the entire year of 2022, Apple is believed to have sold 63.5 million of iPads, which represents a 3% year-over-year decline. The total number of tablets sold during the last year was 162.1 million of units.

Not the market left fourth quarter 2022, specifically, was 8% — which represents “a slower pace than the last five quarters”, according to the firm. Despite this, Apple and Samsung were the only companies to record year-over-year growth — 15% and 5% respectively.

For the fourth quarter, TechInsights estimates that Apple sold 18.1 million of iPads, capturing 41% of the market.

In its latest financial results report, Apple announced that it owns more than 2 billion of active devices — including iPads, iPhones and all your other products.
