One of the most interesting features present in iPhones that has not yet appeared on iPads is the MagSafe charging. This scenario, however, might change very soon.
According to a source from MacRumors familiar with companies that manufacture magnets for AppleApple plans to include support for the technology in the iPad Pro as early as 2024.
The news corroborates (in part) a rumor from 2021, which indicated a possible change of material on the back of the iPad Pro to glass — which would allow Apple to add wireless charging to the device both to recharge the tablet itself and to use it. as a reverse loading tool — the following year.
Although this change did not arrive within the deadline proposed by the report, which was written by the renowned Mark Gurman, it may reach the iPad Pro alongside another important change expected for the devices next year: an OLED screen.
With the glass back, Apple might also implement charging support into the standard Qi2 up to 15W of power — something that arrived on iPhones this year following Apple was directly involved in the development of the second generation of the popular wireless charging standard.
However, it might be that this speculated MagSafe charging support is something along the lines of Macs: a wired charger that magnetically attaches to the device — which is a possibility, given that the two technologies, although different, are homonymous .
Will we really have any of these new features next year? Let’s wait…
