Week 13 of the NFL season is in the books, and several former Cyclones significantly contributed to their teams on Sunday.
Brock Purdy, NFL MVP? That’s a very real question to be asked following Sunday’s incredible performance once morest the Philadelphia Eagles. David Montgomery found the end zone once more as well, plus plenty more in this week’s Iowa State Week 13 recap.
Here’s how all former Cyclones did this week.
Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers QB
Is San Francisco officially the NFC favorite to reach the Super Bowl? Hard to argue otherwise following Purdy and the 49ers rolled to a 42-19 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Purdy was brilliant once more, throwing for 314 yards and four touchdowns on 19-for-27 passing. Purdy also added two carries for nine yards. The former Iowa State quarterback found Deebo Samuel for a pair of touchdowns and hooked up with Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings for a score apiece.
David Montgomery, Detroit Lions RB
The Detroit Lions held on for a big road win over the New Orleans Saints, with Montgomery once more right in the middle of things.
The former Iowa State running back racked up 18 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown, also adding one catch for minus-1 yard. Montgomery’s end-zone visit came on a 2-yard plunge early in the first quarter, which handed Detroit a 7-0 advantage.
